100wc 24th August

Here is my 100wc:
(poem)
The money from my pocket keeps juggling around
It feels like it weighs as much as the ground.
I don’t have a credit card, as you can see,
And I can’t find my pocket, where can it be?

Shops here and there, going up the mall,
Girls trying on outfits for a ball.
Boys are hanging around, got nothing to do,
As the parents are not in a good mood.

Money from birthdays, how can you spend it?
Looking around, nothing for benefit.
Whoever said that money is power,
Was obviously a grown up and was really sour.
The End
This is the prompt for this week:

  1. Hi Adriana,
I love your blog and I really like your poem. It was funny the way you wrote it and I could also see it in my head like the bit where you said Girls trying on outfits for a ball. Boys are hanging around, got nothing to do, As the parents are not in a good mood. I didn’t really see any mistakes or anything to be changed. Because I think the poems lovely.

  2. Adriana,
this has such a wicked rhythm and feel to it- it would make gnarley hip-hop rap!
So many lines stand out for their imagery and sound, but for me the first stanza is just a knockout!
    Great work

  3. Hi Adriana!

I really liked that poem you did!
For some odd reason, when ever I see a poem, I tend to read it aloud. I think it helps with rhythm and rhyming.

At one point you attempted to rhyme ‘do’ with ‘mood’………. and it was a success! I think this is because of the rhythm- don’t you?

P.S. After reading it I couldn’t stop talking with the same rhythm as the poem…. lol
